If you’re involved in the scene in the UK, you’ll know that The Tea Party Club was the longest running organisation for Japanese street fashion – and I’ve also been doing video for them every year for about five years. It was a really big part of my life, and I’m immensely sad that they’ve decided to disband. But, all good things must come to an end.
In honour of a great final event, I put together a playlist of all the video I took at the event. About 4 of the videos were taken live at the event, and 2 were edited up from proper footage later. You can see it all in a playlist, or check out any individual videos below the cut.
Kawaii Data no Monogatari
How much is Cats Tea Party worth? Why is it so expensive? This question has plagued people in kawaii fashion circles for many years. By which I mean, since approximately 2014. So three years.
It’s bothered me for a while too, so I decided to finally, definitively find out using the only tools I had available to me; crowdsourced data, some spreadsheets and a recently acquired knack for data visualisation.
The result is this.

I actually own this dress, Secret of Kells by Knight Night on Taobao, in two different colours. One day I’ll probably en devour to take photos of myself in both outfits so I can put them next to each other and make out like I’m my own twin.
JSK – Secret of Kells
Blouse, Cardigan – Amavel
Socks – Metamorphose Temps de Fille
Shoes – Hush Puppies
Beret – Kangol (vintage)
Necklace – Jane Marple

The pictures were taken in Southport shopping arcade. I think this staircase is really beautiful, and I like the way the rich colours of the chartreuse wall tiles look with the deep wine and navy in my look.
Secret of Kells gives me such a ‘scholarly’ feeling, so I wanted to do quite an academic look to go with the gown. I really like the balance and depth of colours in the overall look – and it’s so weird to not be wearing any black at all!
I know it’s a little bit late to be posting about Christmas, approximately two months late, but I have Tokyo Disney Sea photos to share!
One of the things we really wanted to do during our holiday was go to Tokyo Disney Sea while the Christmas decorations were up. We went on the 21st and it was beautiful! It was also Disney Sea’s 15 anniversary, which was crystal themed, so there was beautiful crystals everywhere.

Remember when I went to Den Bosch and Amsterdam? I took lots of photos with a theme of red and, not saying that red is my favourite colour or anything but I’ve done it again in Tokyo. I just got back from an amazing two week holiday and I noticed I’d done the same thing and taken some red photos at a local temple. Not that its hard to find red in Japan.
Somehow my trip to Den Bosch and Amsterdam ended up being very quiet and peaceful. Looking back at my photos I notice a lovely thread of red going through them. I would even go as far as to call it a photo story. Continue reading
Odd thing to say, but I really appreciate how well signposted the attractions are in Leeds. I really had no problem finding my way around. While following the signs and enjoying a walk by the river, I spotted the one above. I assume it’s some kind of art piece, but I laughed and it caught me by surprise so I had to take a picture.
