If you’re involved in the scene in the UK, you’ll know that The Tea Party Club was the longest running organisation for Japanese street fashion – and I’ve also been doing video for them every year for about five years. It was a really big part of my life, and I’m immensely sad that they’ve decided to disband. But, all good things must come to an end.
In honour of a great final event, I put together a playlist of all the video I took at the event. About 4 of the videos were taken live at the event, and 2 were edited up from proper footage later. You can see it all in a playlist, or check out any individual videos below the cut.
During my Paris holiday I was really lucky to be able to take a tour of The Museum of Fairground Arts. The museum only offers guided tours a couple of times a week, and there was only one opportunity to go during my holiday. Though the museum was very dark, I took plenty of photos, so please enjoy. I actually own this dress, Secret of Kells by Knight Night on Taobao, in two different colours. One day I’ll probably en devour to take photos of myself in both outfits so I can put them next to each other and make out like I’m my own twin.
JSK – Secret of Kells
Blouse, Cardigan – Amavel
Socks – Metamorphose Temps de Fille
Shoes – Hush Puppies
Beret – Kangol (vintage)
Necklace – Jane Marple
Bag – Milk
The pictures were taken in Southport shopping arcade. I think this staircase is really beautiful, and I like the way the rich colours of the chartreuse wall tiles look with the deep wine and navy in my look.
Secret of Kells gives me such a ‘scholarly’ feeling, so I wanted to do quite an academic look to go with the gown. I really like the balance and depth of colours in the overall look – and it’s so weird to not be wearing any black at all!
There is something very aggressively teenage about provocative slogan t-shirts. Examples of why I’ll never be taken seriously as an adult from my own collection include;
- A tight, black t-shirt which states “PARENTAL GUIDANCE. EXPLICIT CONTENT”
- A jumper with “BITCH 01” emblazoned across the front
- Another jumper which I cover up when there’s children around that just says “SUCK A FUCK” outright.
I can’t explain what compels me to purchase such things, but I’ve gone and done it again.
For ILD this summer we went out for Korean food and then for Karaoke! I wore a brand new dress I just got from LIEF.
My obsession with this Sonia Rykiel jumper will never end. Sorry about the phone camera selfie collage but I was spending the day with my mother and having a lovely time and I took these in about 5 minutes while she went to the bathroom!! Desperate, but this overall look was too good to miss.
Loving the amount of pink in my life at the moment to be honest.
A year ago yesterday I quit my job and started this blog. I don’t think I ever intended it to make me any money, but I wanted something to do while I looked for a new job and a platform to put my work on in order to encourage me to keep going. Continue reading
Guess who charged their camera battery and then forgot to put it in the camera?
Recently, I wrote a small guide about how to host your own Lolita (or general) meet up. The thing is, a meet up is a two sided process; people who host and people who attend. Both sides have to do their part in order to make the meet a success, so today we’re going to have a look at what to do when attending meetups.
