If you’re involved in the scene in the UK, you’ll know that The Tea Party Club was the longest running organisation for Japanese street fashion – and I’ve also been doing video for them every year for about five years. It was a really big part of my life, and I’m immensely sad that they’ve decided to disband. But, all good things must come to an end.
In honour of a great final event, I put together a playlist of all the video I took at the event. About 4 of the videos were taken live at the event, and 2 were edited up from proper footage later. You can see it all in a playlist, or check out any individual videos below the cut.
I’m really proud of how far I’ve come as a videographer since I made my first Japanese street fashion video back in 2013. My first video was shaky, it was exported incorrectly, somehow I managed to misalign the footage to the sequence so there was a black bar on top of the whole video… But I’m really happy that someone way back then believed in me and gave me a chance. That chance was what started my career, and the reason I do this full time as a job now!
